Just like my wedding dress, I fell in love with these bridesmaid dresses in a magazine.  Of course I shopped  around but in the end I gravitated back to this dress.

My thought process on picking thee bridesmaid dresses:

  1. Need to find something they MIGHT wear again (i.e., to another “formal event”)
  2. No shiny materials
  3. Not long and not too short (my sister calls me a grandma cause I love the knee length/50’s look)
  4. Simple and cute

So this dress fit all of my criteria and they all looked beautiful that day:

  • Various alterations: take in bust and waist, shorten length. tighten belt

Thank you to the ladies at The White Dress for helping me and my sister/MOH out with the fitting and order!

Thank you to my Bridesmaids for putting this dress on for me.  You all looked so beautiful!!!

I love this dress so much, I almost ordered one for myself.  However, I just found out my bridesmaid, Claire (soon to be bride), is letting her bridesmaid choose their own dresses.  So guess what?! I’m gonna order this dress in her color! Score!

I’m not going to lie. Getting alterations done for MY wedding makes me nervous.  I have YELP‘d alteration shops around my place and I found one that got good reviews!  I felt confident in my decision.  So, I take my MOH there to get her dress altered.  Okay, nice.. this place looks like they work with a lot of bridal gowns and dresses.  The young lady working the front asks one of the seamstress to come out to help us and wow.. rude.  She asks, “What’s wrong with it?”  I kept my comments to myself but we wouldn’t be there if we didn’t want something fixed, right?!  I could of just took the dress and found another place but I didn’t. We are picking it up next week.  I’m crossing my fingers!

Pat always knew that he wanted to buy suits, instead of renting them.  We found Kenneth Cole suits at Burlington for the groomsmen for a pretty good price!

To keep things nice and organized, we purchased these garment bags from Ikea and I glued their names on them:

Last July, my MOH (aka my sister) and I went to The White Dress to try on the bridesmaid dress I’ve had my eye on and ordered it the same day.  Today, we picked up the dresses!  They’ll definitely need alternations.
